Just a glimpse of me...

My photo
Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

sunrise thoughts 24 October 2015

Honesty is the best policy. I cheated this morning. Well, actually no, I didn't cheat. But, I did accidentally fail to set an alarm for sunrise. Also, I went to bed WAY TOO LATE last night. This morning the drapes were drawn tight and the cat must have gotten up in the night for a midnight snack. He was peacefully curled up sleeping in the hollow of my back when I awoke an hour after sunrise. And, as for "the Little"... she was quiet this morning!!! There was no loud rattling of the door handle & her sweet voice crying out...

"PapaBear & DeeDee, cam I please come in your bed & snuggle with you?"
Sipping on coffee & curled up under warm blankets, I texted my friend to see if HE took a sunrise picture I could use. He was already out in the combine working. He'd seen the sun rise over the horizon but said it wasn't that spectacular & he'd not taken a picture that I could share.

I was disappointed that I'd actually missed a sunrise opportunity!! But, almost immediately, one of my favorite quotes came to mind. I searched my photo files for it and found it. Coincidentally, I'd paired it up with a sunrise shot from last year... one year ago to the day!!

Pause... breathe in... move forward. And, don't forget... there are second chances. Like the Tolkien quote above says...
"Still round the corner there may wait, a new road, or a secret gate."
Have a great day - no matter what you failed to do today!!
