Just a glimpse of me...

Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

Dream On...

Have you ever openly shared your heart & your desires with a friend to only hear the words, "Dream on!"?? I've heard that phrase more than once as I told someone about some of the desires in my heart. When I was young, I dreamed that I grew up to live at the Biltmore Estate... I rode the horses daily. I watched deer graze in the lawn below from my balcony. I walked the trails along the Reflective Pond & the Broad River. I read books lying on the shaded hills overlooking the Smoky Mountains. And, I entertained guests at lavish dinners & royal balls in MY HOME.... in my DREAMS.

A horrible drought recently hit us - here in "the plains." Our area had gotten a little bit of rain here & there. But, that year had been a record year for dryness. The entire state was dry & the temperatures were in triple digit for most of the state! On one of those hot, hot nights, I dreamed I was awakened by the sound of rain pouring down the rain spout outside my window. I woke to see that everything was once again lush green. There were blooms on my lilies again. The clematis vine was covered with deep purple blooms. The lawn was no longer a shade of light brown & as crunchy as a stepped on bag of chips. But, then... I really awoke.

There's something therapeutic about dreaming for me... day dreaming of places to visit, people to meet, things to do. There are no confines in the dreaming! There've been times in my life where I would rather sleep & dream than be awake. But, there has to be a combination of both... the dreaming AND the doing... for life to work.

In the words of Sarah Ban Breathnach
"The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do." ~ Sarah Ban Breathnach
In the Word of God, we read:
"Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.Proverbs 21:5
Dream on...  but, continue to WORK to realize your dreams.

  1. Some people are so negative when anyone desires to be more than what they are. Keep dreaming!
