Just a glimpse of me...

Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

Who knew I was this strong?

What a week this has been. The nation cried out in anguish at the senseless terrorizing of the Boston Marathon participants & the Boston community. With the apprehension of the second suspect, there was a slight sense of relief. And, this tragedy has once again reminded us that... there's still a lot to be learned.

My week began with a bang. My heart sank as I walked through some pretty scary things for a few days with a loved one. I was reminded that I have no control over many of the things that happen in my life & in the lives of those I hold dear. I only have control
of how I react to those situations.

I've been amazed at how strong I must be - since I've experience more than what I thought I could ever possibly bare throughout the past days, months and years. But, I choose to be STUBBORN about one thing... the truth of God's promises. And, God promises,
"The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure." 1 Corinthians 10:13
To the glory of God, I've been bathed with a sense of peace that God is near & that GOD IS IN CONTROL. He was not surprised by any of the twists & turns which knocked me off my feet. He is never surprised. In the calm times and in the tumultuous times - He is always working for good. In spite of our bad times & in spite the evil in this world, God is always there and working!

You can be strong too... by fully leaning on Him!

  1. Amen! He is always there to hold us up and give us strength. It's amazing how strong we can be when going through hard things, but it's all because of Jesus who is always with us. :)
