Some people mend. Some people don't.
Often scars knit together the broken parts and the journey to wholeness begins. Struggles can make us stronger - similar to the strengthening of wings for flight which happens as a butterfly fights it's way out of the cocoon.
Unfortunately, some people just stay broken. They don't allow the struggles of life to smooth away the rough edges. Instead, they allow the struggles to sharpen the shards. And, it often appears as though those people find strength in "cutting up others" along the way.
It's almost as if they're saying...
- I'll show you how it feels to be hurt.
- You won't get a chance to hurt me. Because I will hurt you first.
When life is unfair to us, do we chose to heal or remain broken? Do we punish those around us for our pain?
So many questions!
Life is messy. Bad things happen. People get broken. Some people mend. Some people don't.
I'm broken. I want to be mended. But, most of all, I want to be used by God! I'm willing to be used by Him mended with scars or on my journey to complete healing!
What kind of a person are you?
A great question posed by this video... What if God uses people BECAUSE of their brokenness, as opposed to using people IN SPITE of their brokenness?

Hi there,
ReplyDeleteLinking in from A Holy Experience. I found counting God's blessings really helped me focus on seeing Him in action - through brokenness - through joy - through sorrow.
Praying that He will speak to you this day.
Blessings,
Jan
Thanks Jan! Ann Voskamp's book was a wonderful affirmation that the world & Satan CANNOT diminish the joy I receive from the Lord -- even in the simple, day-to-day things or the HOPE that I get when something goes wrong - believing that God will bring beauty from the ashes!!
