It's Monday... the Monday after a week of spending time with family... with NO VOICE. Today is DAY 13 in the continuing saga of "Bacterial versus Viral - WHAT IN THE WORLD IS CAUSING THIS ILLNESS?!?!?" For the first time though in thirteen days, I woke up with a bit of a voice today. I sound more like a bull frog than a person. But, it's progress.
I made one brief phone call to check on my mom who was diagnosed with pneumonia last week. That brief call was a strain on my voice. So, I decided I'm not taking or making any more phone calls today. What's one more day of being quiet, right?
Did, I mention... it's MONDAY! Are any of us quite ready for a new week on most Mondays :/ Thankfully, at this point in my life, I'm incredibly blessed that I do not have to work outside of the home. However, after over a week which included holiday festivities, visits to family out of town, visits from out-of-state family members and much more... I'm worn out. Trying to communicate when you can't even whistle or hum is very strange. You overhear things that you want to comment on. But, no one hears you snap your fingers & comes to see what you wanted to interject. Coughs are silent. Sneezes are silent. You can't hum. And, you can't SAY, "I love you." You can only mouth the words.
This morning I woke up with a croak for a voice... and a sore throat & ear ache. I needed something hot to soothe my throat & grabbed a SOUP cup from the back of the top shelf of the cabinet. I filled it to the brim with hot coffee. On days like today... I like BIG CUPS and I cannot lie. How about you?

Just a glimpse of me...

- Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!
Happy New Year, Indiana Girl. :) I'm sorry you have no voice. May it heal and return quickly. In the meantime, I'm joining you in the large cups of coffee and the relaxing after the wonderful (yet tiring at times) holiday family times. What a treat to see people though, huh?

Oh my goodness... I can't believe I missed replying to your comment Jennifer :/ I finally got my voice back after 2 weeks of nothing! It was so great to be with friends & family over the holidays but, crazy to have to communicate via a speaking app or notes :D
