Just a glimpse of me...

My photo
Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

sunrise thoughts 21 October 2015

Killer sunrise this morning in the land of "stuckinindiana" and I'm snapping away when I get that dreaded notice... MEMORY CARD FULL.

Seriously?!?!? This is not good timing! THIS IS ONE OF THOSE SUNRISES THAT WILL CHANGE BY THE MOMENT & GET MORE BEAUTIFUL BY THE MOMENT! Didn't I just delete a boatload of photos the other day?
My next thought: How in the world will I work this into a blog post about sunrise thoughts.

Each day brings new opportunities. But to me, many days bring more "opportunities" than I can possibly get done in a day. And, this morning's sunrise photo shot was going to take a lot longer than I really had to give to it. I've often felt overwhelmed by what I want to accomplish in ONE day. There are so many ways to fill the minutes of the day. And, there's always the reminder in the back of my head saying, "Slow down & live in the moment." But, it sure is hard to live in the moment when I've given myself a To Do List a mile long. And, there are so many great things that I could do (sending cards & notes out, volunteering in the schools or at local charities, getting the garage cleaned out so the other car is allowed to come in for the winter, etc. etc. etc.)

The reminder that I constantly place before myself is that daily I need to...
Celebrate the little things you accomplish & don't waste energy stressing over the things you weren't able to get done.
So today... the sunrise photo shoot was short and probably didn't capture most of the best moments. But, it did catch some great moments. And for those... I give thanks.

And another thought from this morning...
Many times the things that happen in our lives which seem less than ideal have a way of pointing us in the right direction for the next chapter of life.

  5. Beautiful photos! I often wish that I had a job where I could just spend sunrise and sunset times outside with my camera (preferrable in some national park ;) ).

  6. I am learning to give myself grace and not be a slave to ticking off my to do list. I rarely make a realistic one but I'm improving. I've started putting things like play time with my daughter on my Most Important Tasks list to remind myself where my focus needs to be. Great thoughts today.

    1. What a GREAT idea... making a Most Important Tasks list. Sometimes we just need a little extra reminder of what we know is really the important stuff. Thank you so much for coming over here to read & comment. We are on the way downhill for this write something EVERY day thing. It's been a bit draining for me... but, I am so glad I did it again this year! Keep on keeping on :)
