Just a glimpse of me...

My photo
Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

sunrise thoughts 12 October 2015

There was a pinkish glow coming from the window across the room. I didn't get up to actually look out. Instead, I typed the following as my personal status on Facebook, put my shoes on & ran out the door.
"It's time for a sunrise walkabout... get ready for some gorgeous pictures."

Imagine my dismay when I walked outside to a very gray, cloudy sky with only
a tiny ribbon of pink on the horizon!! Despite that thin hot pink line, there wasn't a hint of "pretty" in the sky. But, I was dressed & ready to head out on a morning walkabout and hoping to catch some beautiful shots to share. So, I decided that (given the reminder from yesterday's post about perspective), I was going to look for & find something good to share.

I did some walking on foot & then jumped in my little yellow car to visit some of my favorite sites in the neighborhood. Although the sunrise didn't light up the sky with pinks, oranges, yellows & blues... I did manage to find a lot of beauty this morning. I had to go around & LOOK for it. But, by going out expecting something good... that's what I got! I've shared a few pictures below.

Look for something good every day! Some days you have to look a little harder. But, it's totally worth it!!

The cow pond is pretty dry!
And the sky is pretty dull -- still pretty!
The farmers are all heading out to the fields.
Loved the pink tint on the side
of a grain silo down the road.
A favorite spot - The old Perkinsville Cemetary
My favorite little angel at the cemetary
Had to swing by our favorite place -
a hidden gem in this area
Stopped by this GREAT new business in the neighborhood,

  2. Beautiful photos! There's something so perfect about morning light and a camera--even if the sunrise isn't spectacular. The light illuminates objects in different ways--and that's how I want to see other people--illuminated by the Light so I see them in different, kinder ways!
