Just a glimpse of me...

My photo
Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

Moving Mountains

I take too many pictures. I can't seem to help it. And, the bad thing is, I am pathetic about deleting photos on my devices. The last phone I had held over 1,300 pictures on it when I traded it in for the next. But, I happen to be one of those people who's deeply moved by looking an an image & thinking back about what was happening at that moment in the picture, what was happening in my life at that time, and what was I thinking about as I took the picture. For me, a picture truly does speak 1,000 words!

The picture here is no different. My heart & mind is full just looking at this picture. It was taken when this sweet baby was six days old. That's right SIX DAYS OLD!
How could something that new & that small make such a difference in this big world. I saw a quote today which I had to pair with the picture I captured in January of 2013...
"Let them sleep. For when they wake they will move mountains."
And, I truly believe that. Each life that is miraculously placed into this world (and every one is a miracle) has the potential to move mountains. The moment they utter their first cry, those around them are forever changed. And, the changing of the world never stops as a result of this one tiny person. It's said a baby changes everything. I would have to agree.

Today, take a moment to reflect on how YOU were someone's little baby at one time - whether in the care of your natural parents or adopted parents or aunts, uncles, grandparents -- loving, devoted caregivers. Your life profoundly impacted someone back then. And, your life has the potential to profoundly impact someone today. It wouldn't do any harm for each of us to wake each morning with the thought,
"Today, I will move mountains."
I do NOT feel like I'm capable of moving mole hills most days and rarely EVER mountains. But, I'm attempting to look at this thing called life positively -- as I encourage you to do.

From the Bible:
He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. Matthew 17:20
Let's move some mountains!!
