Just a glimpse of me...

My photo
Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

O My Soul...

DISCLAIMER: This post is 100% about the faithfulness of God (from a Christian perspective) in this imperfect world.

Have you ever felt like there were moments in life when you have been "punked"? Even to the point of wondering how God could let you be fooled like that?? Have you had something happen in your life or the life of a loved one that you could only have imagined in your wildest and scariest dreams? Have you questioned your faith or questioned the closeness of your relationship with Christ? How many times have you wondered why you can't figure out the "WHY?" Have you questioned how this event will shape your example as a Christian to others around you. And how will it shape the future day-to-day happenings as you attempt to give glory to God through your words, actions & thoughts?
Below are the lyrics to a song released by Casting Crowns and written by John Mark Hall & Bernie Herms. Take your time to read through them thoughtfully.
Oh, my soul
Oh, how you worry
Oh, how you're weary, from fearing you lost control
This was the one thing, you didn't see coming
And no one would blame you, though
If you cried in private
If you tried to hide it away, so no one knows
No one will see, if you stop believing
Oh, my soul
You are not alone
There's a place where fear has to face the God you know
One more day, He will make a way
Let Him show you how, you can lay this down
'Cause you're not alone
Here and now
You can be honest
I won't try to promise that someday it all works out
'Cause this is the valley
And even now, He is breathing on your dry bones
And there will be dancing
There will be beauty where beauty was ash and stone
This much I know
Oh, my soul
You are not alone
There's a place where fear has to face the God you know
One more day, He will make a way
Let Him show you how, you can lay this down
'Cause you're not alone

I'm not strong enough, I can't take anymore
(You can lay it down, you can lay it down)
And my shipwrecked faith will never get me to shore
(You can lay it down, you can lay it down)
Can He find me here
Can He keep me from going under
Oh, my soul
You're not alone
There's a place where fear has to face the God you know
One more day, He will make a way
Let Him show you how, you can lay this down
'Cause you're not alone
Oh, my soul, you're not alone

What have you done in the worst times of our life? How did others see you face those challenges and heartaches? What will you do in the future with those unimaginable times. Because...

THEY WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.

Be encouraged, as a Christian, you have been prepared ahead of time by God to handle them. Will they be easy? NO! Will they make you question some of your beliefs? YES! Will they take you down... ?

As the C.S. Lewis quote says... "God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain.

Walk in that knowledge! Name it & claim it!

  1. When you feel "duped." Oh yes been there, done that, and have about 12 tee shirts.

    1. It's such a strange feeling... but, it's a feeling that is responded to immediately by the STILL SMALL VOICE saying, "You know I NEVER do that, My Child."
