New every morning... a Sunday morning sunrise post :)

she quipped. This Sunday, I woke up in the middle of the night when it was pitch dark outside. The sky was beautifully filled with stars, constellations, and planets. And, then sleep escaped me for several hours. So this morning, I made the choice for the first day this month to NOT go outside & to cover my head with a blanket in order to sleep in until the very last minute.
The sunrise photo I shared above is from a dear friend who lives in North Carolina part of the year and south Florida the other part. He's a lot like me in his love for photography & sunrises. I told him, "Thank goodness you posted this today. Someone here was too lazy to go outside for a pic this cool morning in the land of stuckinindana." What would we do without FRIENDS to help us up on those days when we are in need of a little help :)
A few years ago, when we were visiting our friends in their Florida home, he & I went out in the boat to take sunrise pics at the Jupiter Inlet. I paired one of the pics I got that morning with one of my favorite verses from the Bible. Today I was reminded of it. Each day holds NEW MERCIES. Each morning gives us an opportunity to "paint something new on a fresh canvas." Each day holds grace for every one of us.
"The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning." Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT
So, today I extend grace to myself. And, I don't feel guilty about my laziness earlier this morning. I'm thankful for the help of a friend & thankful that I got a few extra minutes of sleep before I needed to get up!
As I've shared before, I am addicted to seeing and taking pictures of sunrise & sunset. Truth be told, I pretty much love taking photos of all sorts of things. And, I love to collect quotes, lyrics, poems and scriptures. My collection list of "words" is over 1600. And the number of pics I've taken along the way well, who knows if I could even put a count on them. If someone were to ask me if I had a hobby, it would be taking tons of pics & pairing them up with words. You can see over 300 of the pairings in this stuckinindiana pairings album on Facebook. In addition, there are a few albums with jokes or Bible verses or #1000gifts or...

I, too, am a lover of first and last light :). We had a spectacular sunset last evening, and that always makes me feel as if God said a benediction over me.
