Just a glimpse of me...

My photo
Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

sunrise thoughts 15 October 2015

Falling leaves... frost on the ground... frigid air... farmer's heading out to the fields at the break of the day...

As I've written on a few October pics on the stuckinindiana page...

          It's Fall Y'all!!

There's just something about the transition from summer to winter -- called AUTUMN. And, October does that transition perfectly around these parts.

The seasons are one more reminder that there are things in life over which we will never any control. It's a lesson I've resisted for years... the control thing. But, the close of one season as it opens into the next eases us into something new. The key is to let it happen. When we loose our grip on control and change, we can transition more smoothly into the next season in our lives.

Today's cool, frosty morning was a much needed reminder that it's so very important to..

Loose your grip on control & change. Allow things to happen as they need to...

    1. Thanks for stopping by, reading & commenting Mary :) I'm just a regular person - not a real writer, ha ha - so it's really fun to get feed back through the 5-4-5 thing :D

  2. Oh, that control thing - rather the letting it go - is a lesson I keep needing to remember. The other day something came up that I was trying to control and my sweet 14-year-old niece started singing to me, "Let it Go" from Frozen. I laughed as I got the message and let it go.

    1. So funny! Kids can really speak words of wisdom to us -- even when they don't realize the full impact of them :) We have a 2yr 9mo old living with us who runs around the house singing LET IT GO over & over. She asks us to "be Elsa" with her. The other night she was leading us 3 adults around the house singing it & throwing our arms up in the air!! Here's a great "let it go" quote I used on the stuckinindiana Facebook page: "If someone has offended you, insulted or disappointed you... Let it go! If you are remembering all the ways you have been hurt or forgotten, let it go! Ask yourself, what good does it do for me to hold on to this?" ~ Iyanla Vanzant #quote

Thanks for stopping by, reading & commenting Susan!!

  3. The pictures are beautiful alone with the gentle reminder to let go and allow the transition to smoothly take place as he is always in control and holding our hand!

    1. Thanks Laura :) I think it's totally cool how God created this world with things that help remind us of change & transition; the need for rest; the times of ease & the times of toil; etc. There are so many reminders around us that help us in our walk of life.

    1. Thanks Natalie. I appreciate you taking the time to read & comment. I don't know about you. But, for me... writing & posting every day is tough. And, the days that the internet misbehaves... it really gets crazy!

  5. I needed your words this morning. I have never woken up on the morning of my mother's funeral before, and to be guided by God to read your words with my morning cuppa has been very strengthening. Nothing ever stays the same, and we have to learn to let go. I love spring, am ok with summer, really don't like the autumn because it means winter is coming, and detest winter.... now I shall dislike autumn even more because my mum died at the beginning of October, but the promise of spring and resurrection is just around the corner, even though we have to go through the winter first. Thanks so much

    1. Oh Sue, my heart breaks for you! Please know that you will be in my thoughts & prayers in the coming days & weeks. I'm going to put your name on my mirror this morning so that I will see it before me daily. My father went to be with the Lord on October 20th over 10 years ago. I miss him still very intensely. But, God has been by my side & very faithful to bring comfort. PLEASE STAY IN TOUCH!!! If you want to email, the address is stuckinindiana@hotmail.com

    1. Isn't that cool Jen :) The other day all 5 of the 5-4-5 posts I read were related to my subject. It kind of confirmed that the subject I'd chosen for the day was the right one. Thanks for stopping by, reading & commenting!!
