Just a glimpse of me...

Do you ever feel STUCK? In 2000, I began looking for answers to some tough questions in my life. I'd searched high & low and finally conceded to search the promises found in the Bible. Those promises have sustained & guided me through the loss of a parent, the struggle with anxiety & depression, the loss of a valued relationship and so much more! I've found joy amid the pain. And, I want to share it with you!

Life's Snapshots - Old Fruit

I'm a PK (preacher's kid) whose mom was an MK (missionary's kid).  I learned how to scrimp & save.  I learned that gifts you needed were GOOD GIFTS :)  I learned that we ate all on our plate because there was no guarantee for the next meal some days.  So, what to do with fruit that the hubby deems as unsuitable, you know, old fruit?
Old bananas make great banana bread - if you can get yourself to make it.
Old apples make the neighbor horses & cows happy - but 10 of them?
Since I always seem to have trouble making banana bread before the bananas turn to liquid & since there were no livestock for next door neighbors before this house, I've gotten in the habit of slicing & freezing both bananas & apples as they begin to get "OLD."

This morning I enjoyed a protein shake from my kitchen blender with the ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Plain Yogurt
  • 1 frozen sliced banana
  • 1 frozen sliced apple (w/peeling on)
  • 1/2 cup natural apple juice
  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (that my friend Kimberly bought for me at Trader Joe's)

And, I took it outside for some old fruitrenewing time with God on the back porch swing :)
