A great-grandmother holds a baby. And, the memory of her - her works & deeds will live on... |
Last week a young woman gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby. She desired a life for her child that she could not provide - security, provision and love. She made the decision to relinquish her child to the care of parents who would give her baby what she could not. By what I believe is & was God's provision, that infant was placed into the loving home of some of our dearest friends. The world has become a better place as this family has grown & welcomed this child. And, lives will never be the same - but be greatly enriched - for anyone touched by this story.
This new family will observe traditions from those before them and begin new traditions together with this little one. This family will share joys and sorrows. They will find support, comfort & encouragement in each other. This precious child will learn the stories of this family. This child will watch parents who model Christ in their professions AND in their day-to-day lives. This child will watch them taking Christ out into the world.

"Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds, will continue in others."When my story here on earth has ended, will the world be a better place? Will the lives of those I touched be enriched? What works & deeds am I cultivating in my life TODAY that will remain here... in the memories of others?
When I awake in the morning, may I strive to be the best I can be!
Giving a child up for adoption has to be the most selfless act there is.
ReplyDeleteI agree Melissa. And, this young mother's child by birth will grow up in a family full of God's love!
