There are so many "chores" in life that seem unpleasant. Cleaning out a chicken coop would be one of those! And yet, even in the unpleasant things of life, we can find beauty. As I was shoveling "dirty" pine shavings into a box to carry to the compost pile the other day, I thought how most people would NOT want that chore. It's no fun to shovel then dump... shovel then dump... shovel then dump

Rainy day again... and, I needed to get out early to make sure the girls had plenty of water. I'd been out a few times yesterday but, had made the choice to change out the water in the morning instead of last evening in the rain. I went out this morning. I got rained on. It was cool, windy & rainy throughout the night with the temps barely reaching the low 50's. I heated up a dish of homemade apple sauce and donned a baseball cap, waterproof jacket and boots.
